Tom is the owner and founder of Contrail Aviation. He is one of the most experienced pilots you will ever meet. He started his love for aviation at a young age as a parachutist and has been flying ever since. He spent many years as a freight pilot for Kalitta, Atlas, and Polar. Tom is also the head of our maintenance crew.

Kurtis is our chief instructor. He started his career in aviation as one of our students. He earned his Private Pilot Certificate with Contrail, and the rest of his certificates at Northern Central Michigan College. Kurtis instructs students all the way from zero experience to CFII.

Alex is our newest instructor. He is also a Contrail Aviation alumni, earning his Private, Commercial, and Instructor certificates with us. Alex instructs students from zero experience to Commercial Pilot level. He is also the head of our Unmanned Air Systems division.
